A valid credit or debit card must be placed on file for services to be scheduled and performed.

To align with industry standards, a 2.9% processing fee will be applied to all transactions made using a credit card. This fee reflects the costs charged by payment processors and is a standard practice in the service industry to maintain operational efficiency.

All services are subject to NJ’s 6.625% sales tax under N.J.S.A. 54:32B-3(b)(4). Your bank statement will reflect the quoted price of the service completed, plus sales tax and the credit card processing fee.

In the event the card on file fails to authorize a payment, we kindly request that you update your payment information within 48 hours. Services will be paused until payment is processed, ensuring your account remains in good standing.

J&J Lawn Maintenance reserves the right to cancel agreements if the card on file repeatedly fails to process maintenance charges.

This fee is in place to avoid our crew bringing any mess back to our truck or to other client properties.

J&J Lawn Maintenance reserves the right to either charge a $25 excessive pet waste fee or to determine a property unserviceable due to the presence of pet waste. If we arrive to your property and it is deemed unserviceable due to pet waste, J&J will charge for full services rendered (This is non-negotiable and 100% at our discretion). J&J Lawn Maintenance also reserves the right to cancel services of clients who consistently leave pet waste on their property. Thank you for understanding.

The mowing season typically runs from late march, or early April through the first full week of November.

Mowing and all other reoccurring maintenance services will occur continuously on an annual basis. Cancellation must occur via phone, text, or email.

Services occur according to weather conditions and at the professional discretion of J&J Lawn Maintenance. This includes mowing frequency, day of the week maintenance occurs, height of the mower deck, and other general maintenance activity.

In the event of rain, it is possible your service day will be pushed further into the week, or resumed the following week.

J&J customers have the option to request for us to skip the weekly cut by email, phone call or text (24 hour notice is needed to process a skip request). Since skipping usually leads to excessive turf overgrowth, requesting a skip voids all J&J quality guarantees for the next cut.

J&J reserves the right to cancel agreements for clients who skip their mowing service more than 4 times in one year. We also reserve the right to double charge for the next service if the grass is long after a recent skip request (This is non-negotiable and 100% at our discretion).

If our crews arrive and the work has already been completed by someone else, or you turn them away, we reserve the right to still charge for the service due to costs involved with traveling to the site.

The equipment used on your lawn is determined and quoted by our expert landscapers, therefore for any request for customized equipment usage on a property it will be quoted separately and must be requested at least 24 hours prior to service for approval of a new customized bill rate.

We do not bag/remove grass clippings from the property. Due to the high costs involved with dump fees, J&J can remove the clippings upon request starting at an additional charge of $49 per instance (larger properties may require a custom quote).

J&J is not responsible for turf damage caused by our equipment due to the lawn being too wet at the time of service. If the customer feels the lawn is too wet to cut they have the right to request to be skipped and we’ll be back during the next round/rotation. If our mowers create any mud stains/ruts due to the lawn being wet your crew leader will apply seed to the area at the end of the service to promote new growth. 99% of mud stains/ruts are superficial and the areas will come back quickly, usually after the next rain. Please note that we need at least 24 hours notice to process a skip request. We also reserve the right to double charge for the next service if the grass is long after a recent skipped service (This is non-negotiable and 100% at our discretion).

J&J reserves the right to double charge if the property is overgrown and we are forced to double/triple cut the turf. Most of the time the need to double charge is only enforced during the first service for new customers, or if the lawn was skipped in previous weeks.

The crew servicing your property is not responsible for moving trampolines or other large structures such as playground equipment.

Plan Transition Policy:
J&J Lawn Maintenance reserves the right to transition clients enrolled in the mowing program from a pay-per-service plan to a monthly subscription plan at the company’s sole discretion. This policy ensures operational efficiency, resource optimization, and enhanced service continuity for all clients.

Clients affected by this transition will receive at least 30 days’ advanced notice via the email address on file. The notice will include details of the new subscription plan, including the monthly rate and payment terms. Continuation of service following this notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated plan.

This policy is designed to provide customers with a consistent and reliable service experience while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.

J&J Lawn Maintenance takes precautionary measures, utilizing safety deflectors on our mowers and best practice to minimize the risk of debris causing harm to you or your property. We also diligently inspect for any potential debris or hazards that could cause damage prior to each service. However, J&J Lawn Maintenance is not accountable, either financially or otherwise, for any reparations or harm (personal or property-related) resulting from items (whether man-made or natural) that were not brought to our attention or were not cleared by the client prior to our service.

By receiving our services, the customer acknowledges their responsibility to ensure that the service area is free of debris and obstacles before J&J Lawn Maintenance begins work. These items encompass, but are not limited to, objects that are partially or fully exposed, such as hoses, toys, decorations, ornaments, pipes, rocks, and sticks. Additionally, this includes unmarked or shallow wires, pipes, or cables like those of utility companies, internet providers, irrigation systems, telephone lines, and landscaping lighting systems, regardless of their source.

Turf in close proximity to objects like mailboxes, fence posts, siding, or other structures might inadvertently be affected during trimming or mowing. Customers are responsible for ensuring that all turf is at least 6 inches away from any touching area or for applying a protective layer to the object’s surface. If J&J Lawn Maintenance determines that there is a risk of damage, we may refrain from trimming such areas. In such cases, the customer agrees that these areas will remain uncut, and the service will be considered completed.

In order to facilitate safe and efficient service, J&J Lawn Maintenance assigns clients a set weekly service day that service occurs when weather conditions permit. We encourage customers to utilize the knowledge of the set day to inspect their property for items as described above. Additionally, we urge customers to ensure that pets and children are a safe distance away from our equipment. The financial responsibility and necessary repairs arising from damages, as described above, rest solely with the customer. By accepting our services, the customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless J&J Lawn Maintenance against personal injury, property loss, death, or damage.

In engaging the services of J&J, the client acknowledges that our primary focus is to provide exceptional landscaping services. However, we are not liable for any damage or disruption caused to septic systems, sewer systems, or irrigation systems that are not properly marked out and indicated by the client.

The client holds the responsibility to accurately mark and communicate the locations of these systems before the commencement of our services. This includes, but is not limited to, septic tanks, sewer lines, and irrigation pipes. It is imperative that these systems are clearly identified through appropriate markings or documentation.

J&J shall not be held financially or otherwise responsible for any damages, repairs, or inconveniences resulting from the lack of accurate markings or inadequate communication regarding these systems. The client further acknowledges that they understand the significance of marking out these systems to prevent any potential disturbances.

Should the client fail to accurately mark or disclose the presence of septic, sewer, or irrigation systems, any resulting damages or disruptions will be the sole responsibility of the client. J&J will not be held accountable for any costs or liabilities associated with such incidents.

We do not offer a warranty on any sod, plants, or trees installed. However, if your newly installed plants are struggling please contact us as soon as possible so that we can help diagnose and resolve any issues (under or over watering is usually the culprit). Upon completion of your service we’ll provide you with information about properly watering the plant material installed.

The terms and conditions outlined in this agreement are subject to change at the discretion of J&J Lawn Maintenance. Changes may include, but are not limited to, service plans, pricing structures, or policies to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

Clients will be notified of any changes via the email address on file. Notifications will include the effective date of the change and relevant details. Continued use of our services after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Any additional work requested beyond the initial scope of the project will incur an extra charge of $100 per hour (minimum of one hour), which must be settled upon the completion of the service. Alternatively, you can reach out to our office for a personalized quote. Please note that due to scheduling constraints, any supplementary work requested outside the original scope may necessitate a subsequent visit.

In the event of non-payment or failure to remit the agreed-upon payment for services rendered, the Client agrees to be responsible for all reasonable costs incurred by J&J Lawn Maintenance in pursuing the collection of outstanding amounts. This includes, but is not limited to, any attorney fees, court costs, collection agency fees, and other expenses related to legal action taken to recover the owed balance.

J&J Lawn Maintenance reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover unpaid fees after reasonable attempts have been made to collect the outstanding amount through other means. In such cases, the Client agrees to pay any and all additional costs incurred by J&J Lawn Maintenance in the process of collecting the outstanding balance.

By entering into this agreement, the Client acknowledges their understanding and acceptance of this clause, agreeing to fulfill their obligation to make timely and complete payments for services provided by J&J Lawn Maintenance

This clause serves as an important part of our agreement to ensure fair compensation for the services rendered, and it is designed to protect the interests of both parties involved.

Your satisfaction with our services and a mutually beneficial working relationship are of utmost importance to us.

Special Offer Terms and Conditions: Advertised sales are applicable exclusively when incorporating new or additional services. The discounted sale price is not intended for the adjustment of existing customer service fees. However, existing customers may extend prepaid programs using this discount. In such instances, the one-time discounted prepayment will be seamlessly integrated into your current program, effectively extending it at a reduced rate. Please note that existing programs and services with a billing option of 12 Monthly Payments are not eligible for extension.

Cancellation Policy for Discounted Programs & Services

Prepaid: Cancellation is permitted at any time, and a company credit will be issued for future services. Refunds are not available for discounted prepayments. Credits issued due to prepay cancellations must be utilized within 12 months from the date of issue.

12 Monthly Payments: Cancellation is allowed at any time, with charges applicable only for services completed up to that date. As the payment plan spans over 12 months, a final payment may be due upon cancellation, accounting for the removal of discounts and the actual services completed up to that date.

Full Season Pre-Pay Pricing and Service Expectations

All services, including those under the Full Season Pre-Pay option, are subject to weather conditions, turf growth rates, and other unforeseen factors. The Full Season Pre-Pay price is calculated based on an average of 30 services per mowing season. While we strive to provide consistent care, the exact number of services may vary. Occasional cancellations due to weather or other circumstances are accounted for in the pricing structure, and services will resume on the next scheduled service day if a reschedule is not feasible within the same week. This approach ensures fair pricing while maintaining the quality and consistency of our services.

The provided prices, specifications, and conditions are deemed satisfactory, and are hereby accepted. J&J Lawn Maintenance is authorized to proceed with the specified work. The company reserves the right to correct any prices quoted due to clerical errors or omissions. While we typically give advance notice of any price changes, prices are subject to alteration at any time.

In the event of account delinquency, the client agrees to cover all attorney and collection fees related to the collection of the owed amount. If dissatisfaction arises with the work performed, the client must notify J&J Lawn Maintenance of any deficiencies in writing within 3 days of the service completion date. Failure to do so will be considered a waiver of any claims, complaints, and demands related to the work performed. All payment options require a credit card saved within our secure portal for easy billing.

Cancellation Policy:

Upon cancellation, if J&J Lawn Maintenance owes a refund, it will be issued via paper check or credit card per the repayment terms below:

Monthly Payment Customers (8 or 12): Upon cancellation, you will only be charged for services that have been completed up to the cancellation date. Each completed service will be calculated at the standard per-service or per-application rate, excluding any discounts that were part of the monthly payment plan. Early cancellation voids any previously provided discounts, and the final bill will reflect the full, standard rates for services rendered.

The total cost of completed services will be compared to the payments made up to the cancellation date:

  • If payments exceed the cost of completed services: A refund will be issued via paper check in accordance with the repayment terms outlined below.
  • If payments are less than the cost of completed services: The remaining balance will be due.

Most contract customers owe a balance upon early cancellation because the Interest-Free Plan evenly spreads the total seasonal cost across 8 or 12 months, regardless of when services are rendered. By canceling early, the payments made may not fully cover the cost of completed services.

Prepay Customers: If you’ve prepaid for the year and decide to cancel early, you’ll receive a company credit for future services. Early cancellation voids any previously provided discounts, and services will be calculated in full to determine the credit amount. No refunds for prepayments. *Credit for future services is valid for 12 months from the original signup date.

Other/One-Time Services: Cancellation of a non-annual program job incurs heavy costs for us. We reserve your spot on the schedule and, in some cases, secure materials for upcoming work. If you cancel the job, we’ll refund 50% of any prepaid amount for the job and per the repayment terms below.
