1. How does the signup process work? It’s simple! After agreeing to have our professional team of landscapers perform services through the provided quote sheet or online shop, we’ll send you our client onboarding emails. These emails will give you the information on any needed further steps to begin our seamless service.
2. What does each Mowing Service include? Our mowing service includes mowing, trimming, and edging of all existing turf areas on your property. At the end of each service, our crews use backpack blowers to clear all non-turf areas of grass clippings. Please keep in mind that only existing turf areas are serviced during each visit, and wooded areas or landscaping beds are not included.
3. How does billing work?
At J&J Lawn Maintenance, we offer flexible payment options tailored to suit your budget and preferences:
- 12 Interest-Free Monthly Payments: Spread one flat annual rate over 12 monthly payments starting from your signup date. This option ensures convenient budgeting with manageable monthly installments, providing financial ease compared to larger payments during peak seasons. Your subscription remains active for 12 months from signup and auto-renews until canceled by either party.
- Prepay Discount: Enjoy savings of 5%-10% per year when you opt to prepay for the entire year upfront. By choosing this option, you secure your subscription for 12 months from your signup date, with automatic renewal unless canceled by either party.
- Pay Per Cut: Pay only after each service is completed. Your card on file is charged the cut rate following each service.
We want to ensure transparency and clarity in our billing policies:
- We do not pro-rate subscriptions for mid-season sign-ups.
- Pre-Pay and Monthly Monthly Payment options entail a commitment of 12 months from the signup date.
- A debit/credit card on file is mandatory for annual programs.
4. When does the season start/stop? Our mowing season typically begins the 1st week of April. The season concludes the 2nd week of November.
5. How often/which day of the week do you mow? We mow our clients’ properties every week, according to weather conditions and at our professional discretion. Each client is assigned a day of the week to expect our crew to arrive for service. Wet and very dry conditions may alter the schedule, but rest assured that each action taken by our team will have the integrity of your lawn and overall property as top priority.
6. How soon can you perform the first service? For in-season sign-ups, your property will be serviced on the day of the week in which other properties in close proximity to your’s are being serviced. Your service day will be specified during the initial signup process.
7. What times of the day do your crews typically start mowing? We typically aim to start the mowing route at 8:00am.
8. How short do you cut the grass? We maintain an ideal mowing height for cool-season turf, typically between 3″ – 4.25″, depending on weather conditions. These settings help prevent turf scalping and minimize stress on your lawn.
9. What type of mowers do you use to cut my lawn? We prefer to use ride-on, and stand-on lawn mowers manufactured by reputable names such as Wright and Toro Company. Our landscaping team have sourced these mowers for their efficiency and quality of cut. Deck sizes range from 36″ – 60″ depending on the size of the property and size of backyard gates.
10. Do you bag grass clippings? No. Instead of bagging we mulch and discharge clippings. The mulched and discharged grass acts as a natural fertilizer for the lawn.
11. Will I be notified when the crew is coming? The only notice you will receive on when to expect the crew is the day of the week your property is assigned to. Because the crew is running a route with a number of other client properties, we refrain from providing exact times of arrival. The route is run relatively the same each week and it wont be long before you understand when we typically will arrive.
12. Do I need to be home for the service? You do not need to be present during mowing. Our trusted team will get right to work upon arrival and treat your property as if it were their own!
13. Do I need to prepare the lawn before each mowing visit? Please remove decorations/toys/hoses/etc. from the lawn before each visit. J&J Lawn Maintenance is not responsible for damage to any object left on the lawn prior to mowing service. While our crew leaders inspect the lawn before each visit, we appreciate any and all help with this.
13. What happens when it rains or there is drought conditions? In the event of rain, J&J will assess conditions to ensure safe service delivery, prioritizing the integrity of your lawn and property.
During drought conditions, J&J will evaluate your lawn’s status to determine service feasibility. As turf specialists, we may reschedule services later in the week or maintain the scheduled rotation.
Our decisions are rooted in our experience, expertise, and commitment to your property’s care.
